Dare to dream

Why do we dream? Are dreams reality? Or are they far away from reality? If we are real and dreams are not real, then what is the connection between the real us and our unreal dreams? Are we advanced enough to know the real meaning of our unreal dreams?

So many questions, some quite thought-provoking! But where are the answers? Where do we have to look for the answers? Probably, in our dreams.

Dreams unravel a mysterious world to us that is so different from our world. Our world that we live in, our world with which we are so familiar, this world doesn’t excite us as much as the world in our dreams. Probably because our world is within our reach, but the world in our dreams is far beyond our limits. Reaching out to the impossible, reaching out to the unimaginable has always been the desire of mankind. Often, we do succeed in attaining the impossible. But we have not yet been able to surpass our dreams, to manipulate our dreams or to steer our dreams according to our wishes. And that’s the reason why dreams remain so enchanting till today.

When we are awake, the best moments of our lives are the ones that we spend with our loved ones or the moments when we follow our passion to the zenith. There are many people surrounding us, sharing our joys and achievements. Some are even there to share our sorrows and our failures. But when we dream, we dream alone. There is no one to share the bliss and happiness of our dreams, no one to share the terror and fear of our dreams, no one to guide us and no one to follow us. We tread our own path, fight our fears on our own and experience the bliss too on our own.

Does this make us more experienced in our real life? Do we or can we take a lesson from our dreams to better our real life? Why not? If we can survive our fears in our dreams and wake up to a good morning the next day, why can’t we do the same in our real life? It’s just that in our dreams we aren’t scared of anything or anybody. We know that it’s only us there and nobody to bank on. It’s a lone battle that we have to fight and so we tread on and win the battle. But in our real world we depend on so many people that we always long for their support. The support of our loved ones is very helpful in times of crisis, but it is the same support that also makes us weak at times. When we know that we have someone or something to fall back on, we fall. And then we never rise.

We should take a leaf out of our dreams and dare to dream with our eyes open. If we can do that then there is nothing that can stop us from achieving what we want. Sheer dedication, patience, sincerity and faith in our own self is what can make us last till the very end. So don’t be afraid and be brave to dream the impossible. Who knows, you may be standing at the edge of the real and the unreal world and you may ultimately get the best of both the worlds!
